Episode 129: Boxed by Will McIntosh

Posted in Science Fiction, Short Story, Will McIntosh on May 30, 2012 by dunesteef

Metta screwed up, and now she’s been boxed – sentenced to spend 57 years with her consciousness separated from her body in a neural retainer. It’s awful. Worse than anything she’s ever experienced. There must be some way out of this, right?

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about being boxed, Demolition Man, and other stellar Will McIntosh stories like “Bridesicle” and “Midnight Blue.”

Special thanks to R.E. Chambliss for producing today’s story, also to Bryan Lincoln, Christopher Munroe, Eric Kenny, Sgzhanke S. Carlo, The Tie-Dye Flipster, and R.E. Chambliss for lending their voices to today’s episode.

Episode 128: Unfortunate by B.D. Anklevich

Posted in Big Anklevich, Horror, Short Story on May 4, 2012 by dunesteef

On his date, Geoff gets an unusual message in his fortune cookie. It’s just a practical joke, right?

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about the origins of this tale, and Rish asks the non-musical question, “How do you know?” Oh, and Big goes ahead and asks it musically.

And Big wishes to apologize for his audio sounding bad. Apparently, one is supposed to record with the front of the mic facing one’s mouth. Who reads instructions, amiright?
