The October Scary Story Event

We at The Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine have decided to have a special short story writing event during the month of October.  Basically the deal is this:  write a scary story within the month of October, and submit it to us.  The best story will be made into an episode of our show.  It doesn’t have to be an idea you came up with during the month of October, just write the story in October.  And be sure it’s scary.  That’s all it takes.  You have a little less than a month now, so you’d better get started.

When you submit your story, be sure to note in the subject line that it is for the October Scary Story Event.  That is all, return to what you were doing.  Thank you.

I actually worked on the damn thing today.

If I can do it, you can too.

  2. I got mine in, 18 days from concept to sumitted entry. Woohoo.

  3. Big Anklevich Says:

Nice work, Kevin, I’ve written some on mine, but I’m afraid it’s going to come down to 11:59 on Halloween night.

  4. Yep, mine’s in too. I’m looking forward to all the good October stories.

  5. Well, I just submitted a story in the contest. I just feel bad I didn’t hear about this earlier… last minute submissions ftw

  6. Rish Outfield Says:

I’m ashamed to admit that I failed this year. I worked for about two hours on it yesterday (Halloween), but then the trick or treaters came, and I had to kill them. And they just kept coming until I ran out of places in the backyard to bury them.

Oh, and my back really hurts today from all the digging.

Regardless, I think I can finish the story tonight, and since I wasn’t really in the running for the contest anyway, it probably doesn’t really matter.
