Episode 186: The Dune Steef Project

Posted in Big Anklevich, Horror, Rish Outfield on October 30, 2016 by dunesteef

project

In the tradition of those “Ghost Hunters” shows and possibly BLAIR WITCH, we bring you “The Dune Steef Project.” Rish and Big brave a visit to his uncle’s purportedly-haunted house to spend a couple of hours podcasting and seeing what might go bump in the night. Will they uncover evidence of an actual supernatural presence, or will this end up being, well, like those “Ghost Hunters” shows and BLAIR WITCH?

Happy Halloween!

Special thanks to Gino Moretto for providing the art and Chris and Tena Kolakowski for music and other assistance with today’s episode.

Three girls, with rhyming names, from a small town in Montana, are celebrating the final day of summer vacation when they witness something amazing. You’ll never guess what is waiting for them over the next rise.

Afterward, in an episode that was recorded on the day that David Bowie passed away last January, Big and Rish talk about Bowie’s legacy, victories, value, and also Bruce Springsteen…and of course Rish quotes an Elton John song.

Special thanks to Jonathan Wilson for producing today’s story, and to Renee Chambliss, Abigail Hilton, Tena Kolokowski, and Wendy Repchin for lending their voice to the episode.

WrongIngredients

Almost there folks. We’re coming to the end of our TWSC stories. This time it’s Big Anklevich with a tale about a doppelganger, and the mischief that he can get up to.

Afterward, Rish and Big talk about writing, goals, and facing a grocery store. It’s scintillating stuff.

Special thanks to Brian Lincoln for producing and lending his voice to the story.

Episode 167: Dear Santa by B.D. Anklevich

Posted in Big Anklevich, Christmas, Fantasy, Short Story on December 25, 2014 by dunesteef

DearSantaDunesteef

Just under the wire, since there’s still a few hours left of Christmas…at least in our time zone, here’s our annual holiday spectacular.

Jaxon has written a letter to Santa Claus. He needs something a little out of the ordinary this Christmas. Will he get it? Ho, ho ho!

Afterwards, Big and Rish talk about the story, believing in Santa, and the crazy things people name their children…and their characters these days.

Special thanks to Justin Charles for producing today’s story, and to Renee Chambliss and Dave Robison for lending their voices to the tale.

I also wanted to share the alternative art that was created for the story by Justin Charles. I had already made the first art, so I stuck with it, but this one was fun enough that I wanted to show it to everyone:

Last Contact - final

Everyone finds the Others revolting. They are aliens, unwelcome visitors now squatting on Earth. And when Hughes is forced to partner up with one of the Others for his Biology class presentation, he is mortified and disgusted. But will he still feel that way once he’s gotten to know her?

Afterwards, we invite the producer of today’s story, Clay Dugger, into the studio to discuss the story, its length, and lack of awesomeness.

Special thanks to Clay Dugger for producing today’s story, to Renee Chambliss, Thea Killen-Smith, Dave Robison, Rich Girardi, Abigail Hilton, Jay Langejans, Julie Hoverson, Joe Zieja, Gino Moretto, Bryan Lincoln, and Clay Dugger for lending their voices to the episode, and to Gino Moretto for creating the art for the story.

Episode 147: The Battle Of The Ideas by B.D. Anklevich

Posted in Big Anklevich, Fantasy, Novelette on November 27, 2013 by dunesteef

BattleIdeas1

The Dunesteef is back with a brand new edition, produced by Bryan Lincoln! In “The Battle of the Ideas,” Garrett is an aspiring writer who seldom makes time for writing his stories. He figures his characters understand and will forgive him for it. Turns out, he couldn’t be more wrong.

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about the major economic strengths and weaknesses of Sudan. Oh, no, actually, they talk about writing.

Episode 128: Unfortunate by B.D. Anklevich

Posted in Big Anklevich, Horror, Short Story on May 4, 2012 by dunesteef

On his date, Geoff gets an unusual message in his fortune cookie. It’s just a practical joke, right?

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about the origins of this tale, and Rish asks the non-musical question, “How do you know?” Oh, and Big goes ahead and asks it musically.

And Big wishes to apologize for his audio sounding bad. Apparently, one is supposed to record with the front of the mic facing one’s mouth. Who reads instructions, amiright?

Episode 57: The Spirit Of Christmas by Rish Outfield & Big Anklevich

Posted in Audio Drama, Big Anklevich, Christmas, Comedy, Fantasy, Rish Outfield on December 24, 2009 by dunesteef

The Dunesteef saves Christmas. Something has happened to the little town of Hawk Creek. Overnight, literally from one minute to the next, their Christmas spirit fled. What can Dale Cooper do to bring it back?

Afterwards, Rish and Big do a self-indulgently extended author’s note. It’s really pretty sad how much these guys are in love with themselves.

Special thanks to Julie Hoverson, Liz Mierzejewski and Norm Sherman for lending their voices to this episode. Bloopers

Episode 39: The One Year Anniversary Special

Posted in Big Anklevich, Comedy, Horror, Rish Outfield, Science Fiction on July 14, 2009 by dunesteef

It’s been a year since the Dunesteef sullied the net with its presence! Big and Rish talk a little bit about the year that was, favorite moments, which show has been the most popular, what they’ve learned, who they’d like to thank, and what the other should apologize for. Also, they throw in a couple of bonus stories: “Devo” by Rish Outfield and “The Shortest Ghost Story Ever Told” by Big Anklevich.

Special thanks to Josh Roseman and Amory Lowe for voicing “Devo” and Nicole Suddeth for voicing “The Shortest Ghost Story Ever Told.”
