Episode 125: The Ever-Dreaming Verdict Of Plagues (Part 1) by Jason Sanford

Posted in Action, Jason Sanford, Novelette, Science Fiction on February 27, 2012 by dunesteef

In a sequel to his story “Plague Birds” that appeared on the Dunesteef on episode 92, Jason Sanford tells the story of Plague Bird Christina de Ane’s further adventures in the future earth that has been driven toward the brink of insanity by gene manipulation. She arrives in a new village, where the Alderman’s son has been brutally murdered, and is duty bound to dispense justice. But something just doesn’t seem right…outtakes

Also, Big and Rish talk about how much better The Dark Knight is than its predecessor Batman Begins. They also talk about how much better Star Trek: The Wrath Of Khan is than its predecessor Star Trek: The Motion Picture. And that’s before the story even begins. You’d think we were in for a long show, but surprisingly, they reign it in after the story ends. You may not be searching for a way to deafen yourself by the end of the show after all.

Special thanks to Bryan Lincoln for producing today’s story, to L. “Scribe” Harris, Veronica Belmont, Paul Kuhr, James David Jackson, and Bryan Lincoln for lending their voices to today’s episode, and to Melissa Hills and Atom Jarvis for today’s episode art.

Episode 106: Peacemaker, Peacemaker, Little Bo Peep by Jason Sanford

Posted in Action, Fantasy, Horror, Jason Sanford, Short Story on July 1, 2011 by dunesteef

Peeeeeeeeace.

The previously kind, docile, and sane people of town have turned violent and bloodthirsty. They’re killing off anyone in town who is normally willing to do violence, from murderers to police officers. How can Sgt. Davies save herself and her family?

Afterward, Big and Rish talk about feedback, especially comments, about this episode and old ones. A second incentive episode is announced. Also, Rish tries to coin the term “as thick as nails.” And “renumeration.” This is not his night.

Special thanks to Tanja Milojevic for producing today’s story, and Peter Katt, Andriana Marchio, Richard Garner, Jack Kincaid, Moses Bisel, Tobias Queen, Sale Marchio, and Tanja Milojevic for lending their voices to today’s episode.

A plague bird has come to Cristina de Ane. What does it want? To punish her old boyfriend for attacking and crippling her? To punish someone in the next town over for their savage ways? To punish Cristina’s own town for some new misdeed? Or something else entirely?
Outtakes
Afterward, Rish gets violently ill, and he and Big talk about vomiting for waaay too long. Plus, they ask the musical question, can Hilton help the hopeless?

Episode 28: Freelanga by Jason Sanford

Posted in Drama, Jason Sanford, Science Fiction, Short Story on March 31, 2009 by dunesteef

The mavich is coming. It can’t be stopped. The only way to get away is to change who you are, through and through. That works pretty well . . . for a while.

Rish and Big talk about the Broken Mirror Story Event, and reveal the premise for the contest.  They talk about more experiences with different people having the same idea simultaneously.  Also, see if you can count how many times Big Anklevich says “That’s right,” throughout the episode.

We’d also like to thank Liz Mierzejewski and Abigail Hilton for contributing their voices to today’s episode.
